Anne Lamott says that there are three essential prayers: Help, Thanks, Wow. When a non-believer says, "I wish I could learn to be a better husband/wife/dad/mom, etc., from a Christian," they are confessing that they can't do it on their own; they are praying, "Help." In 2 Kings 5:1-27 we read about a man who admitted that he needed help. And help is available, through the blood of Jesus.
