3 big decisions
We all make decisions every day. But for our young people, there are some very big decisions coming their way. Career choices often take priority. But there are other big decisions coming. This Sunday evening our 6:00 pm worship service is focused on our youth. The Hamilton District Christian High School praise team leads our worship. Join us!
Stood up
He forgot our appointment. It happens. But still.
We all want to be remembered. The criminal on the cross next to Jesus asked to be remembered. And Jesus assured him that God would remember him. This Sunday we hear those words from the cross. And they are for us. Sunday, March 1, 10:00 a.m.

Everyone did as they saw fit
Theft,
wife abuse, violent homosexuality, gang rape leading to murder, injustice,
brother killing brother, kidnapping.
It’s all there in the last 5 chapters of the book of Judges: “In those days Israel had no king: everyone
did as they saw fit.” But are we much different? Just look at the hype around the movie, Fifty Shades of Grey. When there is no accountability, no higher authority, people do whatever it is they feel like doing, whatever they see fit. How we need a King! That's the message of this Sunday, Feb 15 at 10:00 am. The Lord's Supper will be celebrated during this service.
We also have an evening service this Sunday, during which I will talk about my visit to Guatemala with World Renew. We turn again to the Heidelberg Catechism, Lord's Day 15 where we consider the line of the Apostles' Creed: "He suffered..." The evening service is at 6:00 p.m.

Lefties
Celine Dion is on the list. So is Albert Einstein and Babe Ruth and Leonardo Da Vinci and Bart Simpson. Judge Ehud didn't make the list. As a left-handed judge, he had the upper hand over the enemy, but only because the mighty right hand of our God was with him. God's salvation comes to us in unexpected ways! This Sunday's message is part of our mini-series from the book of Judges. Feb 8, 10 a.m.

Guatemala
On Sunday morning, when Ancaster CRC gathers for worship, I will be en route to Guatemala with World Renew to meet the people with whom we work in that country. Our team will be posting to a blog while we are there: http://volunteerblog.worldrenew.net/delegates2015
Our assistant pastor, Pastor Ed Visser leads the worship service this Sunday, Jan 11, and the morning service of Jan 18. I will be preaching at our evening service on Jan 18 at 6:00 p.m.

Seth Reid Bootsma
Yesterday we celebrated the sacrament of baptism. Seth Reid Bootsma was marked with the sign of God's covenant. He belongs to God's family - not because he is so well behaved (he IS a good baby!) or because he can stand up say that he loves Jesus (he can't yet walk or talk). But he belongs. We thank Jesus for that. Congratulations to Brad & Rebecca and the rest of the family!
